Why Excel?

Top Five Reasons for Your Child to Attend Excel Christian Academy

1. Academics with Focus on Mastery

We use a variety of curriculum sources to meet the academic needs of our learners.  We trust educational research that suggests a well-rounded, integrated and hands-on approach to learning.  Mastery is the goal, and we allow our students the time that is needed to reach mastery while expecting a strong work ethic and high standards.

2. Trained Teachers Who Engage Learners

Excel teachers consider current brain research, children’s different learning styles along with Howard Gardener's work on Multiple Intelligence to differentiate teaching strategies with lessons that engage each student. The result? A learning environment that promotes creativity, wonder, joy, and innovation for all students in the classroom.

Instead of a one size fits all, industrialized 19th century learning approach, our goal is student engagement.  Our teachers have the flexibility in their planning to adjust the curriculum timelines and to structure learning groups to meet the needs of all learners.

3. A Well-Rounded Experience of Discovery and Growth

In addition to their core academic classes, elementary students' schedules include a variety of specials each week  including archery, Taekwondo, Spanish, dance, physical education, art, chapel and library.

Middle and high school students have opportunities to take fine arts classes and participate in archery, STEAM, leadership, BETA Club, chapel, science forensics, worship/media production and other character-building activities.

4. Focus on Personal and Spiritual Development

At Excel Christian Academy, our main focus is preparing students for college, career, and life.  Our teachers have been highly trained in Social Emotional Learning practices and partner those strategies with the content of God's word.

As a Christian school, we devote time to a student's spiritual growth, service to church, school, and community. Our students are proud of their place in the Excel Christian Academy family and have gratitude for their experience and growth here.

5. Partnership with Free Life Chapel

Excel Christian Academy is a ministry of Free Life Chapel. Pastors Scott and Cindy Thomas, along with the entire Free Life staff, count it an honor to be able to serve the families of Excel. Whether through offering Sunday services, special events, performances and programs, or just letting a family know they are being lifted up in prayer, Free Life counts it all joy! Free Life’s vision has always been to “Help others discover and live the Free Life in Christ.” That includes our Excel family.
